What is Meditation
What is meditation:
Meditation is a practice in which an individual trains the mind or induces a mode of consciousness, either to realize some benefit or as an end in itself.
Alchemical Meditation
Meditation is an age-old human activity that is designed specifically to get beyond the illusions of social falsity and personal ego and contact the essence of Self. It is the art of focusing consciousness by directing your attention inward, without regard to the demands of the external world, in order to move beyond ego and achieve union with your spiritual core. In the Hermetic view, the creation of the universe took place through meditation – the focusing of the mind of God. “All things have come from this One Thing,” says the Emerald Tablet, “through the meditation of One Mind.” The source of that One Mind is the same for everyone, and it can be found in meditation. That is a profound idea. In fact, just saying that people could make contact with the divine through meditation and private prayer was enough for the medieval Church to burn several famous alchemists at the stake.

The Alchemist’s Lab Coat
Alchemists participate in their laboratory operations. Unlike other scientists, such as chemists who strive for objectivity and separation from their work, alchemists prepare themselves to experience the same processes they initiate and apply to the materials in their laboratory.
In order to prepare for work in their laboratory, alchemists put on a lab coat, a necessary and very important first step. This coat does not look like other coats or capes because it exists as a state of mind. Alchemical meditations allow you to wear this lab coat.
Like other types of meditation techniques, relaxation must first be achieved. Many progressive relaxation techniques can be used. This one comes from a friend and practicing alchemist, Dennis William Hauck. Use it, experience it and learn it. When you can relax yourself quickly and easily, other alchemical meditations that will be shared here will bring you into the laboratory.
